VNG2163
Gene VNG2163 in replicon chromosome
The ral gene is the only totally unique core haloarchaeal orthologous group member [tucHOG546] that has been ascribed a function through experimentation, as a possible component of the mammalian-like RPA, which binds single-stranded DNA and has been implicated in ionizing radiation tolerance. See Karan et al. Appl. Microbiol. Biotech. 2014 Feb; 98(4):1737-1747.
