VNG2417
Gene VNG2417 in replicon chromosome
polD1 encodes the small subunit of the heterodimeric euryarchaeal specific D family DNA polymerase on the large chromosome. This polymerase is thought to act at the lagging strand and the polD1 gene has been determined to be essential. See Berquist et al. BMC Genet. 2007 Jun 8;8:31.
